House of prostitution

Montana law defines a house of prostitution as a place where a person or persons regularly engage in prostitution or the promotion of prostitution under the control, management, or supervision of another person. (Mont. Code Ann. § 45-2-101 (28).) So, a young man who “turns tricks” in his own apartment is not operating a house of prostitution, although he is engaging in prostitution. However, if that young man’s landlord goes to bars and finds clients for him and pockets all or some of the proceeds in lieu of rent, then that apartment has become a house of prostitution.
